DBMS- Advantages and Disadvantages.

DBMS: A software system that enables users to create and maintain the database and that provides control access to this database.

Some of the Advantages of DBMS are:

  5. Improve data integrity.
  6. Improve security
  7. Enforcement of standards.

  9. Balanced conflicting requirement

  12. Improved maintenance through data independence.
  13. Increase concurrency.
  14. Improved backup and recovery services.
Disadvantages of DBMS are:
  1. Complexity.
  2. Size
  3. Cost of DBMS
  4. Additional hardware cost
  5. Cost of conversion
  6. Performance
  7. High impact of a failure
